Democratic Socialists of Your Party extends our congratulations to candidates who have won a seat on the Your Party Central Executive Committee (CEC). Our solidarity also goes out to the candidates who have missed out this time.
DSYP organisers have been at the forefront of this campaign, as candidates, as volunteers in the campaign team and in their branches all working to advance the politics of a genuinely member-led mass socialist party. As an organisation we are proud of our candidates and the way they have conducted themselves throughout the campaign.
We have many questions and issues with how this election was carried out, particularly around how those administering the party were also taking part in the election campaign. We also condemn the transphobia and racism DSYP and Grassroots Left candidates have been subject to throughout.
Over the coming days and weeks our task will be to ensure this party, the branches that have come together organically and party members are not ignored and dismissed as they have been since the party was launched. We will not accept anymore witch-hunts and stitch-ups, we need a party of the whole left.
We will continue to fight, we are not going anywhere and the road to a mass socialist party is not easy but there are no shortcuts.
