Rents rise while wages stagnate, and public services are stripped for profit. The establishment has failed us β€” and the time has come for a decisive break from the old politics of compromise and managed decline. Our intervention at TWT aims to spark a conversation about what kind of party can meet this moment β€” one that is independent of capital, internationalist, and member-led from the ground up. A party where ordinary people are not just represented but rule. ## Our Submission: For a Party Republic At this year’s assemblies, DSYP is putting forward our vision in our submission, For a Party Republic, which sets out what a genuinely socialist and democratic party should stand for in the 21st century. πŸ‘‰ [Read the DSYP submission](https://theworldtransformed.org/documents/361/DSYP_TWT_Submission.pdf) - At its heart are our Points of Unity, which call for: - A party that fights for socialism and the end of capitalism - Internationalism and anti-imperialism, with solidarity across borders - Liberation for all oppressed and exploited people - Mass political education as a foundation of power - Radical democracy and member control at every level - Open factions, non-partisan staff, and accountable leadership - A strategy that treats politics as a comprehensive struggle for power, not just elections Alongside these principles, we are developing A Vision for Maximum Democracy β€” ten constitutional principles for a bottom-up, member-run party where sovereignty flows from the grassroots, not the top. ## Join Us at Our Fringe Event We’ll be hosting our own fringe event at TWT: πŸ“… Sunday, 2:15–3:30pm πŸ“ The Proud Place (near the festival site) – an LGBTQ+ community centre and accessible venue. πŸ‘‰ [Get your ticket here](https://www.tickettailor.com/events/democraticsocialists) Come along to hear from DSYP organisers, share ideas, and discuss how we can build a democratic socialist movement capable of transforming society. ## DSYP at TWT: Meet, Learn, Organise We’re also running and attending key sessions throughout the festival β€” you can find all the recommended and DSYP-hosted events on our shared calendar: πŸ‘‰ [View the TWT calendar](https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=c_0c894a7ffadafc1968c2b4726375f94e257f22b6e421cb0a54e6539f3cbf56e0%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=Europe%2FLondon) And of course, we’ll be hosting a Friday night social at Kro Bar (Oxford Road) from 8:30pm β€” all welcome. It’s a chance to meet comrades from across the country, unwind, and start conversations that can continue long after the festival. ## Building a Democratic, Socialist Future DSYP began as a small group of activists with a shared belief: that Your Party must be built as a tool of working-class self-emancipation, not another vehicle for compromise. Since then, we’ve grown into a nationwide campaign with local organisers, working groups, and hundreds of supporters who share that vision. We are developing draft constitutional and programmatic proposals to help shape Your Party from the bottom up β€” a party built by and for the working class, not for elites. If you share that vision, join us. πŸ‘‰ [dsyp.org/join](https://democraticsocialists.org.uk/join) ## Democratic Socialists Β© 2026 Democratic Socialists Ltd. All rights reserved.
